Sarah and Stephen handcrafted so much of this day to make sure that everything was perfect. Some things were out of their control (like the weather- we had record heat that day! But it was worth it.) Sarah created so many little details- from the vintage lanterns and coke bottle vases, the gorgeous pink & yellow flowers and centerpieces, beautiful banners, and leaf decorations as a nod to the ancient oak tree in their yard.  Their friends and family  played a huge part as well. From the very touching ceremony to the custom homebrews for the reception, they were surrounded by support and love. Although to be honest, Sarah & Stephen could have been standing in the middle of an empty field, and it wouldn’t have been any less beautiful.

This was one of those days when I was standing outside on a gorgeous day, surrounded by happy people; this couple treated me like a friend, and invited me into their home on one of the most important days of their lives. I am blessed and humbled that this is my job.

Thank you for being wonderfully sweet, and many congratulations to you both.

Emily & Scott are getting married this September in the Cranberry area, and if the couple of hours I spent with them are anything to go by, it’s going to be a fantastic time.  Many thanks to them for fitting me into their busy return home & I am definitely looking forward to September.

To say that we were going for nontraditional senior portraits might be putting it mildly. As for the accordion? He’ll tell you it’s my fault, but I don’t know. I may or may not have been responsible for setting him up with an amazing accordion teacher one day. But it’s absolutely not my fault that he took like two classes and and wound being stupidly good at it. That accordion actually has a history to it- it was my great-grandfather’s, who played it at my parent’s wedding; Ian worked at it & played it at my brother’s wedding last year. Good stuff. And everyone knows that the accordion is the sexiest instrument alive, anyways.

A few details: Wes & Ashley got married at Old St. Luke’s, a beautiful little historic church in Carnegie, and the reception was at The Great Hall.  I love the little personal touches they brought through the day- from the adorable bridesmaids’ shoes, to the beautiful floral arrangements & bouquets that Ashley’s sister made, to the favors, which were little bags of popcorn from Pittsburgh Popcorn-yum!

There are times where I feel so blessed to realise that my job is to take happy pictures of people in love, on one of the greatest days of their lives… Wes & Ashley’s wedding was one of those times.  Below are just some of my favorites from their beautiful day… enjoy.
