Sara graduated from La Roche this past year and wanted portraits to celebrate! We chose to wander around Schenley Park and Oakland area to get some great shots.

Sara asked if she could bring her dog, Ralphie, along for some shots… Of course I said yes! I absolutely love animals- for a while, the house I grew up in had: three rabbits, two cats, one large dog, and fish. After that, taking pictures of one dog is easy! Anyway, I love it when people choose to document their pets as part of the family. I’m happy to work with them anytime.

Of course, we did end up getting the one day that was 90+ degrees and sunny and humid.  But Ralphie was a good sport and Sara, of course, looked chic and beautiful the entire time. She has such a great sense of style.  This first shot looks like she walked out of Sex & the City.

Lifestyle Family Portrait: Holly, Eric, & Family

January 12th, 2010

I don’t do family & children photoshoots too often- it’s just something that hasn’t come up very much. (Although with all the kids that are running around lately, I’m sure that will soon change!) Kids always make an entertainig change of pace, and whenever an absolutely adorable family comes along, well, it’s hard to resist.  Holly & [...]

(Although with all the kids that are running around lately, I’m sure that will soon change!) Kids always make an entertainig change of pace, and whenever an absolutely adorable family comes along, well, it’s hard to resist.  Holly & Eric & the kids were kind enough to invite me into their home to do a lifestyle portrait shoot for them, so we took some time out from a snowy Saturday afternoon before to get a few shots.

We’ll start with Alana, the youngest:

Eyes to die for, seriously.   Isn’t she a beauty? They’ll all grow up to be heartbreakers, though, and if you think I’m exaggerating-

Next, Colby, who always had the biggest grins for me, and Logan, so serious.  Or trying to be! He showed me his room and read me a book.

And then you can’t forget about the furry children:

Thanks, Holly and Eric! You have such a beautiful family.  : )

Sarah and Eric

I promised Sarah a while ago that I would take photos of her and Eric. When she said that he agreed to a photoshoot, I didn’t realise that he was blindly going along with it and and thought that one of her friends was bringing a point & shoot camera and taking a couple of pictures… Did I mention he hates having his picture taken? And that he had no idea what was actually going on until I showed up their doorstep with all of the equipment I own? Yes, well. In between every picture (and during most of them) was “Oh look! There’s my car… maybe I can escape,” or “I hate you, Sarah,” and, eventually, the look of terror disappeared. Despite all that we had a lot of fun (at least, Sarah & I did) and I am really happy with how these ones turned out, even though it might have been one of the fastest photoshoots I’ve ever done. Seriously, how gorgeous do they look together?
