Lifestyle Family Portrait: Holly, Eric, & Family

January 12th, 2010

I don’t do family & children photoshoots too often- it’s just something that hasn’t come up very much. (Although with all the kids that are running around lately, I’m sure that will soon change!) Kids always make an entertainig change of pace, and whenever an absolutely adorable family comes along, well, it’s hard to resist.  Holly & [...]

Holly & Eric & the kids were kind enough to invite me into their home to do a lifestyle portrait shoot for them, so we took some time out from a snowy Saturday afternoon before to get a few shots.

We’ll start with Alana, the youngest:

Eyes to die for, seriously.   Isn’t she a beauty? They’ll all grow up to be heartbreakers, though, and if you think I’m exaggerating-

Next, Colby, who always had the biggest grins for me, and Logan, so serious.  Or trying to be! He showed me his room and read me a book.

And then you can’t forget about the furry children:

Thanks, Holly and Eric! You have such a beautiful family.  : )

Still Booking for Christmas

October 27th, 2009

I know, I know. I know, I know. No one likes going into retail stores around Halloween to find the Christmas carols already playing, and I don’t like it any more than you do.   Still, it needs said- we are rapidly running out of time to book portrait sessions for November-December.

November is always my busiest month, and there are a lot of personal commitments this year- workshops to go to, babies being born, novels to write, weddings, Thanksgiving… All that to say that my schedule will be a little less flexible than it usually is, and most people are just starting to think about their Christmas cards! If Christmas portraits are something that you have been considering,  please, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me as soon as possible. You want to leave time for the Christmas cards to be printed, and there is a limited amount of portrait sessions left available in November. Please get in touch with me soon if you’d like to reserve one of those for your family.  :)

My December Greeblepix Entry

My December Greeblepix entry. Click to see it larger. Also, make sure to check out the other entries and vote here over the next few days. :)

Things have slowed down for a little while and I’m happy for the rest. All of my shopping is done, and now I’m just waiting for the Christmas gifts to come in the mail.  I’ve managed to mostly stay out of stores so far, and the season has been remarkably unhurried and at our own pace. About the only thing I bought at a store this year was a quick stop at Yankee Candle.  My husband and I compromised this year and put up an artificial tree, but it’s still not Christmas until the entire house smells like pine. :)

Sometime this week we’ll be exchanging gifts. My husband and I visit an average of four or five houses between Christmas and Christmas Eve, so we hate to be rushed; also, he’s really awful and keeping gifts from me. “…Do you want your Christmas present?” He inevitably asks several times a night.  Silly husbands. :)   It makes a nice tradition for us, though; and it’s hardly the traditional twelve days of feasting, but it does serve to extend the holiday a little bit longer. We’ll give it a good run while it’s here.

I hope your holiday season is enjoyable thus far and that you have the time to create your own traditions.
